Last months Op shop finds

Good day everyone! Thought I'd share my latest thrift buys with you. First up, this lovely 70's dress which I think goes pretty well with my Cue cardigan

I couldn't leave behind this lovely little swan.

I think he's pretty sweet!
I had a little squeal when I found this dress. I love the way it fits and how easy it is to wear and the fact that it never needs ironing!

Shoes and earrings are also thrift finds from a while back

And lastly these sweet little cards bought from the same Oppie

Not a bad haul huh?!

Hope you are well and happy ~Love E xo

the odd shots

I'm in an Odd Shots mood.
You know the photos that aren't quite the way you'd normally look at the world.
These are some I found in my collection from when E and I met up last year in Sydney.

Okay so I just liked the last one!

Oddity. Nicety. December.

Still in love with this biscuit recipe from E
I found this beautiful saucer in an op shop in Narooma for 50 cents!
Every now and then I pop a cardamon pod in my tea for slightly Chai feel

When my sister's little girl Keira comes over, everything has to change.
This is where my chess display ended up when I realised 1 year old Kiki was out to get them!

This beautiful cheesecake was demolished at my friend Tania's place for a luncheon
with friends at the end of last year. My darling Elaine was there for a treat!

A Sunday breakfast treat brought to you by YeLLoW and OrAnGe.

The Start of our Veggie Patch
The Soil arrives!
Voila! The beginnings of Organic living!
I can't wait to show you how much it's grown since we put it in less than a month ago.
Stay tuned!

The random use of our free outdoor furniture, courtesy of the side of the road, and leftovers from a furniture importer. Score!
I'm dying to have some sort of outdoor function to decorate the peppercorn tree and put these finds to more use!

Since this photo was taken on the "great day of the coming of the veggie patch", Mr Maxi-moo has learnt to crawl meaning this would not be how he would spend his outdoor time anymore. At the time though this was perfect for a frustrated bubby who if indoors would not do anything unless you were at his side. Nature boy here though is absolutely contented when outdoors. He really let us get so much work done!

My dear friend and fellow garden enthusiast Natasha helped us out SO much...
AND she enjoyed herself!
Thanks Natasha xx

My mood board for December was full of cards from The Finders Keeper's Market and the Sydney Festival season.

I made some apricot sauce from one of my all time favourite cookbooks (borrowed from my sister Lisa while she is off blogging her London adventures).
The smell... the taste... why have I not tried sauce, jam and pickle making before!?!?

Please excuse the dreamy staring off into the lights.

It was late, and, at this point I just didn't want another day to go by with no outfit post (now that I actually fit so many pre-pregnancy things) and no documentation of the dress Tom bought me for our anniversary at Newtown. As it is it's taken me a month to get this photo up!

It's vintage of course!

Also from Newtown, my gorgeous Fox-wrapped-around-my-finger ring.

Shirley and I indulge in some Chocolate Pudding Cake in a cup - with ice cream and banana's of course!
2 minutes in the microwave. Seriously awesome stuff.
The recipe is from a blogger I really like - House of Humble.

What post would be complete without my incredible blue-eyed boy?

That's just December.

An Orchid to brighten my days

Hello everybody! Thought I'd take a break from painting to share a few things that have been making me happy and also an outfit shoot. First of all, introducing... my beautiful, beautiful Moth Orchid!

I've had it for a month now and hope to get one more out of it. Such joy!

My gorgeous hubby surprised me with these back issues of Frankie!
He bought them from ebay for me to enjoy over the Christmas break.
I'm being very disciplined though and savoring them so they last me as long as possible.

This skirt is one of my latest Op shop Vintage finds. The tag says vintage but I can't get over how current the style is. It reminds me of all the Cue skirts I'm always coveting. And half price day brought it down to $2.50! What a buy!!

Shoes- Op shop buy from when I was 16!

Top is a made in China cheapy that I found in an Oppie.

These earrings were a gift from b that we found in a vintage store in Leura. I love them!

The vintage butterfly slide was a gift from my Aunty. One of those I'll never part with.

Hope you are all well and not too traumatized by today's Mondayness

The Finders Keepers Market

It's kind of sad that it's taken me so long to share this  awesome event.

For those who have heard of it, I'm talking about the Finder's Keepers Market. I heard about it through the blogosphere and managed to head over to the CarriageWorks behind my oh-so-favourite Newtown in Sydney. Such a crazy day, I'm lucky I was able to get anything out of it. In saying that, the truly sad thing is I had no idea there was a clothes section tucked away in a room near the stage. NO IDEA that is until I got home and looked through all my cards and papers pulling out a map and realising just what I missed out on.

The music was good, these guys (Achoo! Bless you) had a nice sound. I'm just getting some free tunes from them off Triple J unearthed now.
In awe I wandered through the crowded old building. The building fascinated me, and was the perfect place for Etsy to come to life in. That's right. Imagine walking into Etsy and that's what it felt like. homemade and vintage goodness all around. As I didn't quite have the mindset that day to purchase things, and was more interested in making sure Maxi-boy was "behaving" as much as a 6 month old can, I took it upon myself to collect as many interesting business cards and brochures as possible so I can reminisce and visit their websites once  home. And that's exactly what I'm up to! First of course I made them into a lovely mood board for me to admire, and to remind me of who I need to look into when I get a chance.

The Storybook Rabbit was featured in Frankie last month
This is me trying to catch the girls at Frankie's awesome dresses. It was a walkby shot - honestly if I had time I would have just asked them to pose or something!

Mr & Mrs White - Delightful

I really love these images - perhaps for Max's Room?
LOVE LOVE THESE. I love vintage tea saucers/plates and birds and clouds especially so I'm a lot in love.
Thanks, Lightly.
Their website has a whole range of even cooler things. Seriously check it out.

Some things I thought were cool...

Angus and Celeste make these amazing hanging flowerpots which I am in love with. Would look spectacular at my place...

This was the second time in Max's little life that he enjoyed trying to steal my drink at Guzman y Gomez. Mmmm Mexican. Nan and I enjoyed their yummy gluten free deliciousness. (you may have noticed I tend to gush and gush over food. I apologise although it's not something I can help!)

There were soo many great things, I'll just have to add some link love for you to check out:
Imp'ish: inclined to do slightly naughty things for fun; mischievous (organic baby wear!)
Hand Made Love - this is the blog but also check out the shop
Zoemou beautiful jewellery
The Paper Convention  Amazing things by using paper!
Made 590 really cool. and featured in Frankie also. and the shop is in Newtown.
Bespoke Letterpress Boutique - beautiful.
Sailor Sam - handmade sailor kids clothes (picture above)
Scoops Design - Very funky
The Quick and The Dead - This is some really cool decorative stuff people!

SO go check them out people!

Last but not least Foal Design. I actually followed up and bought one of these hats. If you are like me and all hats seem to look ridiculous, this may just be for you. The hat I bought is lovely, but I feel the need to buy a less bright one next time. Oh how I can't wait for the next time. Think Max may end up with one also.... but that's for another post. For now just check them out!

There's so much more I could have gone on about but I think I'd better leave it there.

see!
